Big Bend, Texas

No wilderness experience in Texas is quite like Big Bend National Park. More than 800,000 acres of mountains, desert, and river provide endless spaces to explore. With jagged peaks sheltering pine forests more typical of New Mexico or Colorado; canyons more steep, sheer, and narrow than any found in the Grand Canyon; the sprawling Chihuahuan Desert; the Rio Grande in its robust, untamed glory; it's as if Big Bend was transplanted here from somewhere else.

Come hike in the Chisos Mountains, canoe down the Rio Grande, relax in a natural hot springs, or unwind under the sparkling night sky. Big Bend offers something for everyone and a one-of-a-kind wilderness experience.

We took a group of men to Big Bend for a long weekend. As their leader, it was so refreshing for me to have Carl and his team set up our camp, prepare our meals and lead our adventures. In addition to knowing the area, providing great equipment and meals, Carl has a heart to invest in men, which made me feel like another pastor was on the trip with me. I gained ground with each of the guys on our trip that would have taken months for me to cover at home. The trip was an incredible experience for each one of us. If you’re considering this for a group of guys at your church, I say do it!
